A Workshop on Creativity through Writing Led by Rick Shelton

Wednesdays, January 13 & 27, at 6:30 p.m.

In this two-part workshop, suitable for children and adults, Rick will help us explore the creative riches available to us when we find and focus on a particular object, when we begin to "see" something through a single-pointed meditation. We'll talk about how creativity, art, and writing in particular, allow us to "lose ourselves so that we may find ourselves."

We will also go through a guided exercise designed to help us discover something we have only glanced at in the past. Then Rick will offer some ways for us to begin writing about what we have found. Between sessions, folks can compose a piece in response to the exercise. In the second session, we will talk about our experiences of thinking and writing about our particular objects. Rick will leave some time for folks to share their writing, but sharing is not required.

These sessions will be full of "no worries" fun, as well as an opportunity for us to "see" and know one another better.
